Apple has designed Screen Time as part of the iOS feature to limit the usage on iOS device. This feature monitors the amount of time that you spend on your device, and more specifically on the applications that you use.
The main idea for having a Screen Time feature is to help prevent smartphone addiction and social media addiction and to help improve the physical and mental health in general. If you’re a parent who is concerned about your kids’ online activity, Screen Time will also give you access to your children’s Activity Report.
To limit your device activity, you can set a daily or weekly range to control your usage. With an iOS device, you’ll be able to set a detailed amount of time in an app.
When that time limit is about to expire, you will get a warning that you’ve only got a few minutes left. When your time is up, you can choose to extend, but the app will require you to input your Screen Time password before you can proceed.
The Screen Time password is used to secure the Content & Privacy Restrictions or to consent time extensions on App Limits. When you activate Screen Time on a child’s device, through the Content & Privacy Restrictions, you can prevent your children from opening adult content from their iDevices.
Since the Screen Time passcode is separate from the lock screen passcode, it will be harder to manage the different passcodes that you have set; it is also possible for you to forget your Screen Time passcode.
When this happens, you may need to bypass or remove your Screen Time passcode. In this article, we will discuss a few options that you can try in case you forgot the Screen Time passcode on your iPhone. If your iPhone is locked by Screen Time Passcode then you should turn to Option 2.
First, go to the Settings app, and navigate to the Screen Time button. Tap on the Change Screen Time Passcode button.
Next, you will be prompted by an option. Click either Change Screen Time Passcode or Turn Off Screen Time Passcode.
You will then be required to enter your Screen Time Passcode. Tap the Forgot Passcode, and you can now recover your passcode using your Apple ID.
Then, enter your Apple ID and password, and tap OK to accept.
Now, you may remove your Screen Time Passcode.
