Given that your iPhone is exactly stolen by someone and you cannot get it back, we will inform you how to recover data from lost iPhone. But first, we will show you three solutions to track and find your lost iPhone.
Ways to Find Lost iPhone and What to do if you fail to find it
Method 1.Use Find My iPhone app to find lost iPhone by setting "Lost Mode"
Supposed that you had set up Find My iPhone app on your device and you can get access to another iOS device, then you could follow the steps below.
- Launch the Find My iPhone app on another iOS device, like Apple Watch or iPad.
- Log in your Apple ID and password.
- Tap your iPhone. On the screen, you will see the map indicating the location of your lost iPhone.
- Tap “Actions”. It stands in the center of the screen at the bottom.
- Tap “Play Sound”. This button is located on the bottom-left of the screen. Provided that your lost iPhone stands nearby, it will give out a sound for you to know its location.
- Tap “Lost Mode”. This will help you lock your phone immediately and begin tracking your device. You can also edit a message with your contact information on your iPhone’s screen. Provided that you had not set the unlock code on your phone before, you can enter one by using “Lost Mode”.

Method 2.Use an Apple Watch to Find Lost iPhone
- Supposed that you have an Apple Watch, you could connect your Apple Watch to networks, like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. I have to tell you that the network type must be the same as your iPhone.
- Scroll upon the screen of your Watch until the Glances menu presents.
- Tap “Ping” button. After that, your phone will play a pinging sound to help you find out where your device is.
- Keep on pressing the “Ping” button to have your iPhone emit its LED light. It may help you when you use it to locate your iPhone in the evening or in the dark.

Method 3.Enter the Google Timeline Website to Find Your Lost iPhone
This solution works out only when you enable the location reporting and history on your device. Next, you can follow the steps:
- Go to Google Map Timeline. You can use it to track your phone’s location as Google Timeline has collected all the location data from your phone.
- Tap “Today” and then you can notice that your iPhone’s latest timeline is presented on the left side of the screen.
- Scroll down to find out the last reported location of your device.
- Pay attention to the Timeline’s location data and check whether your phone stands still or not.
- Use the Google map to locate your phone.
Be Careful! If your iPhone was stolen, and you locate the iPhone using the methods mentioned above, DO NOT ACT ALONE! Notify the police in the area where the signal is coming from and then have them escort you to the location to recover your phone.
And Confronting thief/thieves on your own like the video below is not recommended.
