Nowadays, iPhone is becoming more and more popular in our daily life. It’s not only used as a communication tool but also a storage space for some important files such as pictures, messages, contacts etc. And protection of the iPhone data is also becoming very important, because in many cases, you may lose this information. For example, probably you may lose some data when you update iPhone, or unfortunately, your iPhone is lost or stolen, you will desperately want the data on iPhone back.
Regularly backing up iPhone data is a very good way to rescue you in that circumstances. Do you know how to back up iPhone? Let me introduce to you how I usually back up my iPhone.
There are three ways that are frequently used by myself, iTunes, iCloud and D-Port Pro.
When just starting to use iPhone, I used iTunes backup and iCloud backup to back up my iPhone, because they are officially suggested by Apple and we can use 5GB free storage space in iCloud. But I also found both of them are too time-wasting. When backing up, iCloud and iTunes will back up all the data on your iPhone and some data you don’t want will have to be backed up together.
It’s a nightmare for me and D-Port Pro ended the nightmare. I fall in love with it the first time I use it. Quite different from iCloud backup and iTunes backup, when using D-Port Pro to back up iPhone, you can selectively choose data types, such as Messages, Line and WhatsApp. The backup is no longer a package of all data, it can just be one type of data.
Step 1 Launch iTunes on your computer and connect your iPhone to computer by cable.
If a message pops out asking you to Trust this Computer, follow the instructions to comply. If iTunes passwords is requested, enter it to continue.
Step 2 If the connection between iPhone and computer is done, a phone icon will appear. Click the phone icon.
Step 3 Click Back Up Now, iTunes will start backing up iPhone. The backup will be saved in the computer.
Recent backup records can be checked under Latest Backups.
It will take some time to finish the backup, please be patient. You can see the process bar at the top of the interface.
Step 1 Connect iPhone to a Wi-Fi network.
Step 2 Go to Settings>Your name (Apple ID, iCloud, iTunes&App Store)>iCloud>Scroll down to find iCloud Backup
Step 3 Tap iCloud Backup and turn on iCloud Backup. If you are using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings>iCloud>Backup to turn on iCloud backup.
Step 4 Tap Back Up Now and keep the device connected to the Wi-Fi network until the process is complete.
Except manually backing up iPhone, you can also schedule an automatic iCloud Backup. Steps are as below,
Step 1 Go to Settings > Your Name > iCloud > iCloud Backup to turn on iCloud Backup.
If you are using iOS10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud > Backup to turn on iCloud Backup.
Step 2 Connect iPhone to a power source and a Wi-Fi network.
Step 3 Make sure the screen of iPhone is locked and that you have adequate storage space in iCloud. The backup process will begin automatically.
